PURPOSE
OUR APPROACH
To assist those who are recovering from substance use disorder and addictive behavior by helping them overcome obstacles that would hinder them from being productive members of society.
The goal of all programming is to be Self-Supportive & Relish in Sobriety and Recovery.
Statement of Need
The US has reached a record height for overdoses across all states. Despite increased federal funding for opioid-specific supports in recent years, the state of Illinois has seen an increased 16.2% in overdoses since 2020 according to the CDC. More so, both Cook and Kane Counties experienced an increase of DUI arrests since 2017 (7.3% increase in Cook and 15.8% in Kane). Now more than ever, there is a need for responsive programming, and funding to do build these programs.
Research shows that success in recovery comes through an ongoing combination of engagements: Non-clinical Recovery Support Services, Recovery Support Groups, and Recovery Housing. New Beginnings offers the pillar to these engagements as a community of residences and individuals dedicated to overcoming obstacles with its residents. In order to achieve this and continue to meet the needs of our clients, fundraising and seeking donations are a part of our efforts.
Additionally, education with Narcan training and Fentanyl test strips are paramount.
Our plan builds upon the success of our current programming through scaling the model into additional areas and populations.
